WNY Marine finds emaciated puppy, covered in ticks. He’s now on mission to get her home

We, together made it happen for Piggy – an earless, abused puppy found on the streets of Afghanistan by Zachary Knorr. Piggy arrived to the United States months ago, and is doing remarkably well in foster until Knorr arrives home from overseas.
Now, another puppy needs us. Another brave member of our military needs us.

Hope Rises is on a mission to help bring in the funds for Bella, a puppy found by Brendan Murphy of Depew, NY. He is a Marine, serving our country in Afghanistan.

On July 18, 2019 I discovered a puppy living alone in a fenced in area of our compound here in Afghanistan. She was dehydrated, hungry and covered in fleas and ticks. After some care from my team of Marines and I, she is now a happy, active and curious puppy.

Even after such a short time together, we could not imagine leaving her behind when our deployment ends and it is our goal for her to live a safe and happy life in the United States.

I have been in contact with the charity organization, Nowzad, which runs a shelter and veterinary clinic in Kabul. Nowzad will provide all medical treatment and vaccinations in their shelter and then facilitate Bella’s rescue from Afghanistan.

Your donations will help cover the cost of spaying, vaccinating, and treating Bella and finally getting her back to the U.S.

Donations are desperately needed. The goal has been set at $4,000.

If you wish to help get Bella home to Brendan, please head here to make a donation. Please stay with Hope Rises for continued updates.
