Party in style – roaring 20s style!
The For Our Daughters “The Roaring Twenties” Gala is happening in October and will directly impact this nonprofit aimed at assisting young women with living longer, healthier lives by taking the reigns on their health.
Founder, Mercedes Wilson, was motivated to start the nonprofit after being diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer at the young age of 28.
“We believe that every young woman should know her family history and be proactive in speaking up when something isn’t quite right with her body,” says Mercedes. “This is accomplished by going into both middle and high schools all over Western New York and spending time with young women in an effort to show them how to open up dialogue with the loved ones in their lives.”
