Lorie Ann is from Buffalo, NY, and anyone who knows this great city understands that it’s often referred to as the snow capital of the north.
With that comes intense cold, which makes it hard on those who are in need on the streets.
When Lorie was recently in her car at a stop light at a busy intersection, she saw a woman standing with a cast on her foot, and what she recalls as wearing the “saddest eyes” – she knew she had to help in some way.
“I couldn’t drive by her. I stopped and told her to get in the car and I would take her wherever she needed to go. She told me she had missed her bus and was trying to get to the VA (Veterans Hospital). She had a broken foot.
It was just a random act of kindness. We live in a world where too many won’t stop or are afraid to help a stranger.”
Lorie learned that her new friend is Nettie.
Nettie and Lorie are now forever connected by the kindness that brought them together. Amazing work, Lorie!!
