Woman holds Band-Aid drive to bring smiles to children in the hospital

When Kim Campbell was in the outpatient recovery room with her son, Logan, at her local children’s hospital in Buffalo, NY, she learned something quite surprising.
“I was talking to the recovery nurse, and found out that if they want to give out ‘fun’ band-aids that they have to buy them out of their own pocket,” she said.
That didn’t sit right with her.

So, what exactly are “fun” band-aids?
“Anything with color, popular characters, a design to make the children smile,” Kim explained.
Kim knew she had to do something. So, she got to work.
“I decided I was going to personally buy some and drop them off, but I was hoping that others would donate them, as well.”
Kim has made it her mission to gather as many Band-Aids as possible. She is turning to her local community for support.
She started a Go Fund Me page for those who wish to help but prefer not to purchase Band-Aids themselves. For those who wish to donate a few boxes, Kim is willing to pick up.
They MUST be Latex free.
If you wish to participate in the Band-Aid drive, message the Hope Rises Facebook page to let us know how you wish to help.
