What’s He Got? Nothing!

  • January 6, 2026

If you’ve ever taken a trip to “Banditland,” you might recognize that iconic line– but you might not recognize the face behind it. Meet the Swensons: Chris Swenson, the long-time announcer at home Bandits games, and his son Brett Swenson, the Bandits’ ball boy. Both have been working for the Bandits for several years, and have made their mark on the organization for the fans and players alike; Chris’ booming voice over the P.A. system of Keybank Center creates an unparalleled high-energy atmosphere for even the most casual lacrosse fan, while Brett has made an impact on the players’ morale with his pre-and-post-game pep talks!

For over 30 years now, Chris has been the voice of Banditland, which elevates the fan experience to such an extent that teams around the league have tried to imitate him– with varying degrees of success. Throughout that time, as Chris became a vocal institution in the league, his son was welcomed with open arms by the Bandits players, coaching staff, and management team to become their official ball boy. They make him feel like part of the team, despite not being on the official roster.

“The team, they look at opportunity… to go and play for people that maybe can’t play for themselves. And I think Brett’s a great opportunity for them to embrace somebody who loves the sport and is very passionate about it, but at the end of the day, he can’t necessarily get out there with the boys like they do.”

Chris Swenson, Buffalo Bandits Announcer

When Buffalogo Co. got the opportunity to collaborate with the Bandits, they jumped on it, and created a unique design that honors the “Bandit” moniker while utilizing Chris’ most iconic mantra. And the best part? Proceeds from the shirt are going towards a great cause. As Brett is an individual with Down Syndrome, it’s only fitting that the shirt honoring the Swensons should benefit GiGi’s Playhouse- a local Down Syndrome achievement center. This center offers free therapeutic, educational, and research driven programs for individuals of all ages with Down Syndrome. You can learn more about GiGi’s Playhouse and their mission here.

When you purchase a shirt, you can be sure that your contribution is appreciated far beyond the walls of Keybank Center. You can place your order and support the mission of Gigi’s Playhouse, as well as the efforts of Buffalogo Co., at this link.
