Join Hope Rises for Coffee, Conversation and Inspiration

Hope Rises News has been asked by Daily Planet Coffee Co. Inc. in our hometown of Buffalo, NY to host an event highlighting the CHANGE MAKERS of our communities. We, along with Beth Potozniak of Just a Blond in Buffalo blog, are thrilled to invite a handful of individuals to the stage, who were featured through #HopeRises since our launch back in October 2017.

Joining us to offer their stories of hope and inspiration include:
Kaely Kwitek of Kaely’s Kindness Foundation – a nonprofit assisting teen girls living with cancer by offering emotional support, and meaningful friendship. Learn more about the big waves Kaely is making in her community!
Lauren Amy of Magic’s Mission Beagle & Hound Rescue, along with her HERO hound, Victoria – Lauren’s life was saved thanks to the dog she rescued from a high kill southern shelter. Find out more about her incredibly moving story. Lauren and Victoria have been featured worldwide! You won’t want to miss it.
Melody Simmons of Make-A-Wish – When Melody was just a teen, she was diagnosed with an aggressive cancer that made her very sick. She fought back, and beat cancer! She also received an incredible wish through Make-A-Wish to meet legendary NFL star, Tom Brady. She describes it as an experience that set the tone to her life path. She now works for Make-A-Wish in Rochester, NY as the region’s Development Coordinator, helping to raise the funds necessary to grant more wishes for children who are very sick.
Annette Helda and Lisa Hill of HSBC – When Lisa’s daughter was born, the NICU at the hospital saved her life. Wanting to give back in a meaningful way, both Lisa and Annette organized a workplace giving campaign to raise critical awareness of NICU funding. They also raised enough to purchase one new isolette to help future babies in need. Hear more about their efforts during our event.
Closing out our night will be a special performance by singer / songwriter, Mindy Davey. Mindy was featured on our #HopeRises blog after we posted about Morgan, the pre-teen from the Albany, NY region who thought about taking her life due to bullying. Mindy wrote “Morgan’s Song” and will officially release this song for sale the night of our event! To purchase your pre-sale copy and to support bullying efforts, head here.

Come. Grab coffee. Bring a friend. Talk about your own story of hope and love. We look forward to meeting you!
**We will be selling Hope Rises tees for $20 each with $5 of each t-shirt sale to benefit Diamonds in the Ruff Animal Rescue. Pick yours up night of.
